Gardening (or my version) is the only thing that keeps me sane! I get lost in thought - or lose all thoughts- which is heaven. I want to visit your plot!
You are welcome to my plot anytime! I love to talk about and fuss over my growing vegetables as though they are my children. :-) I also get lost in thought and get pleasantly tired from the effort. It's all really necessary, in good times and bad, but especially when the rest of the world is wearying--and not in a good way.
I'd love to hear about your workshop in Maine. Gardening is a great way to keep sane in the INSANE times we are living through. The black flies are here now, keeping me in, but it's also raining every day. My shade garden is so happy.I stand on the screened porch and view my plants with joy.
We've had a lot of rain here too, which means I don't have to go to the garden to water, but it's also cold and dreary! I am glad your plants give you joy! I feel the same way, especially when they are coming into their fullness; it's a hope-full process.
The workshop in Maine was through the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance, and they held it at the Schoodic Institute on the Schoodic Peninsula. It's actually a part of Acadia that I did not know existed. The weather was also dreary, except for one gorgeous day of sun, so I was out on a trail with friends then. The workshop wa s with Kathryn Miles and 9 other women, as it turned out. Got some feedback on an essay, learned a lot, and grew my writing community. :-)
